It is with deep sadness that we inform the Cathedral Prep community of the passing of Pat Czytuck ’70, longtime teacher and coach. He was one of the longest tenured teachers in Cathedral Prep history, serving the Math Department from 1980-2022. Pat, or as his players, students, friends, and family know him as “Coach Czy” or “Czy,” also served the Cathedral Prep football program for 43 years under five different head coaches. His four plus decades of service are more than any other coach at any level/sport in the history of Cathedral Prep athletics. He is the only individual to coach in all nine state championship appearances, including the five state titles in 2000, 2012, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
He was inducted into the Cathedral Prep Athletic Hall of Fame and the Metro Erie Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
Pat's unending love and dedication to the school, football program, and students are true examples of our mission and what it means to be a Man of Prep. Please join us in praying for Pat, his family, and our community through this difficult time.
*Obituary and visitation/funeral arrangements will be posted once we have that information.*
“Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen." Mary, Queen of Prep, pray for him. #Prep ✝🧡

Last week, members of the Cathedral Prep Dance Ensemble had the incredible opportunity to participate in the National High School Dance Festival at Point Park University!
This prestigious event brought together 1,600 high school dancers from across the country and beyond, including schools from Canada, Australia, and Hawaii.
Our students engaged in masterclasses spanning various dance genres, learning from top educators nationwide, which significantly enhanced their technique, artistry, and understanding of dance.
A major highlight of the festival was the chance for our dancers to audition for over 70 different college dance programs and summer intensives, opening doors to exciting opportunities for their future in dance. Additionally, our students experienced a breathtaking performance by the professional dance company BODYTRAFFIC, an inspiring moment that deepened their appreciation for the art form.
Under the guidance of our dedicated dance instructor, Mrs. Jessica Lucas, our students made the most of this extraordinary experience, representing Cathedral Prep with passion and professionalism. We are immensely proud of their hard work and can't wait to see where their dance journeys take them next! #Prep #Dance #DanceEducation #FutureInDance
