







Cathedral Prep Holiday Weekend Athletics Roundup:
• Girls cross country had a big weekend. At the Manhattan Invitational in Bronx, NY, competing in the prestigious Eastern States Championship race, the Ramblers placed third overall behind Delaware powerhouse Padua Academy and Colorado powerhouse Classical Academy. Fina Bannister and Anne-Catherine Brown were the first two Ramblers across the finish line of the 4k race held in storied Van Cortlandt Park. Bannister finished 18th overall (15:16) and Brown followed in 20th (15:18). Sophie Becker placed 34th overall (16:02). Makayla Stutts and Reagan Johnston placed 39th and 41st (16:06 and 16:08), respectively. Zita Schiedel placed 51st (16:17), while Olivia Davis rounded out the team with her 69th place finish (17:12). The girls also took part in the Clipper Invitational in Columbiana, OH, claiming the runner-up team trophy. They were led by Lilly Pinzok’s seventh place finish (21:57). Lilly Whaling (12th in 23:00) and Sophia Swanseger (13th in 23:17) followed. Theresa Patton (19th in 23:55) and Kendal Johnston (21st in 24:17) and Savannah Sanner (33rd in 24:45) rounded out the runner-up team. 👟
• Boys cross country won the Clipper Invitational behind the sixth place individual finish of Will English in 18:35 for the 5k course. Quinn Orlando and Michael Brown finished in 13th and 14th place (18:54 and 18:55, respectively). Jeremai Pruzenski and Joe Dieteman were close behind in 16th and 24th (19:10 and 19:29). Tino Vendetti (29th in 19:51), Sam English (31st in 20:07), and Mason Rietz (40th in 20:48) rounded out the championship team. 👟
• Girls varsity soccer claimed the Region title with a 4-0 win over Fairview. Peyton Rodgers, Sophia Stinson, Maeve Melody, and Claire Delaney all had goals. Alexa Senz, CC Cacchione, and Kayley McCall had assists. Jordan Senz and Giada Kosack secured the shutout in goal. ⚽
• Boys varsity soccer picked up a huge 3-2 win over St. Ed’s (OH). Max Johnson scored two goals and had an assist. Ethan Cain also scored and had an assist. Will Agresti also had an assist for the Ramblers. ⚽
• Boys water polo finished 2-1 in the Erie Challenge. They won their opener over Upper Perk, 16-5. Lochlan Snider-Mills scored six goals. Ely Cooney scored four times. Josh Bartlett, Thomas Fortin, and Clark Brown each scored a pair of goals. JD Cullen made six saves. They would win their second game over Pennridge, 9-7. Snider-Mills once again led with four goals. Cooney had a hat trick. Fortin and Michael Ferrare rounded out the scoring with a goal apiece. Cullen made three saves. They would close the weekend with a 17-7 defeat to La Salle. Snider-Mills scored four times. Cooney scored twice, while Ferrare also scored. Cullen made four saves. 🤽
• Girls water polo also played in the Erie Challenge. They lost their opener to Upper Perk, 7-5. Alexis Ferrare (MP) had a hat trick. Anna Socash and Rachel Patton each scored twice. Bri Ryan made seven saves. They would also lose to Pennridge, 14-4. Ferrare (MP) scored three times, while Socash also scored. Ryan made nine saves. 🤽
• Varsity football lost to Benedictine (OH), 53-23. DaZarie Carson had 33 carries for 189 yards and three touchdowns. 🏈






• It was once again a battle of the Ramblers in the District 10 AA Doubles championship. Congratulations to Lydia Beuchert and Ella Fetzner! They defeated teammates Katie Kuhar and Eliza Kallner, 6-1,6-2, to win the title. They are now Hershey bound! Congratulations girls! 🎾🏆
• Girls volleyball swept Girard. Varsity swept the Yellow Jackets, 3-0. Mackenzie Moore had 23 assists, eight digs, and six aces. She surpassed 1000 digs for her career in the third set! Coco Speros had 17 kills and five digs. Lily Gallagher had two kills, seven digs, and a block. Awut Mangok and Ella Snippert each had two kills and a block. Paige Patsy had 11 digs and three assists. Ellen Hutchinson had three aces and four kills, while Elizabeth Hutchinson had three aces. JV also earned the sweep, 2-0. Gianna Lombardi had eight assists and 11 aces. Alaina Sambuchino and Joella Adams each had three kills. Snipper had seven aces. 🏐
• Girls soccer took on Fort LeBeouf. Varsity battled to a 1-1 in overtime. Peyton Rodgers had the lone goal. Alexa Senz had the assist. JV also tied, 0-0. ⚽

• Girls volleyball swept Nichols (NY). Varsity swept the Vikings, 3-0. Mackenzie Moore had 24 assists, three kills, three aces, and eight digs. Coco Speros had 14 kills, seven aces, and 11 digs. Nora Marsh had six kills and six digs. Awut Mangok had three kills, while Taylor Benacci had two kills. Lily Gallagher had five digs and four aces. Paige Patsy finished with 15 digs, two aces, and two assists. JV also picked up the sweep, 2-0. Gianna Lombardi had seven assists and four aces. Alaina Sambuchino had four kills, Catie Costello had five kills, five aces, and three assists.🏐

• Girls soccer swept General McLane. Varsity extended their win streak to 10 after defeating the Lancers, 7-1. Peyton Rodgers and Kate Toohey each scored a pair of goals. Alexa Senz, Mackenzie Prather, and CC Cacchione also scored. Cacchione had two assists. Prather, Rodgers, Sophia Stinson, and Nora Fedor also had an assist. JV won their match, 12-1. ⚽
• Girls volleyball swept Mercyhurst Prep. Varsity swept the Lakers, 3-0. Mackenzie Moore had four aces, 10 digs, 18 assists, and a solo block. Coco Speros had 11 kills and 7 digs. Nora Marsh had four aces, six digs, and four kills. Awut Mangok had four kills, while Taylor Benacci had two kills and four digs. Catie Costello had three digs. Lily Gallagher had nine digs and a solo block. Paige Patsy finished with 14 digs and two assists. JV also picked up the sweep, 2-0. Gianna Lombardi had 12 assists and three kills. • Girls cross country defeated Erie High, 15-50, at Brown’s Farm to clinch a perfect Region record. Anne-Catherine Brown won the race. Zita Schiedel, Fina Bannister, Makayla Stutts, and Reagan Johnston rounded out the top five. Sophia Swanseger was seventh. Theresa Patton took eighth, while Lillian Whaling was ninth.👟
• Boys cross country fell to Erie High, 25-31. Will English finished fourth to lead the Ramblers. Michael Brown and Jeremai Pruzenski followed in fifth and sixth, respectively. Quinn Orlando finished seventh. Santino Vendetti took ninth, while Sam English was 10th. 👟
• Boys water polo lost to North Allegheny, 17-11. Lochlan Snider Mills scored four times. Ely Cooney and Josh Bartlett each scored a pair of goals. Thomas Fortin, Michael Ferrare, and Clark Brown also scored. JD Cullen made five saves. 🤽
• Girls water polo also lost to North Allegheny, 18-9. Anna Socash scored five goals to lead the Ramblers. Alexis Ferrare (MP) had a hat trick. Rachel Patton also scored. Bri Ryan made 11 saves. 🤽










• BACK-TO-BACK! Congratulations to Paige Patsy. She claimed the District 10 AA Singles title 6-0, 6-0, over teammate Ella Fetzner. With her victory, she is now headed to Hershey for the state tournament. Her second consecutive title made it the eighth year in a row that a Victor/Rambler took the girls singles tournament. Congratulations, Paige! 🎾🏆
• Boys soccer swept North East. Varsity defeated the Grape Pickers on Senior Night, 6-1. Max Johnson and Ethan Cain each scored twice. Andrew Spitzer and Dominic Leone also scored. Cain had two assists, while Drew Johnson, Jack Louie, M.Johnson, and Zeke Rees also had an assist. JV posted a shutout, 6-0. Leone had a hat trick. Rees, Parker Foster, and Wes Griffith had assists. John McCormick secured the shutout in goal. ⚽





• Girls cross country won the Legends Meet in Cortland, OH. Four girls placed on the individual medal stand: Anne-Catherine Brown (4th), Fina Bannister (5th), Makayla Stutts (14th), and Zita Schiedel (21st). Sophie Becker (26th), Reagan Johnston (49), and Olivia Davis (64th) also scored for the Ramblers. 👟
• Girls tennis took part in the D-10 AA Singles tournament over the weekend. Paige Patsy, Lydia Beuchert, and Ella Fetzner each won their first two matches. Fetzner would defeat Beuchert to advance to the championship, while Patsy won her semifinal match over Franklin’s Leaha Rial to make it an all-Prep final. • The Boys and Girls AA District 10 Individual Championships concluded at The Country Club of Meadville. For the boys, Joseph Prichard finished third overall with a two-round score of 149 to advance to the PIAA Championship at Penn State. Connor Laird (151) and Santino Washburn (153) will join him in State College after finishing fifth and eighth, respectively. Nik Blanchard (155) finished 11th overall. On the girls side, Claire Williams (180) finished 14th. ⛳
• Girls varsity soccer picked up a 5-2 win over Nardin Academy (NY). Peyton Rodgers and Anna Johnson each scored twice. CC Cacchione also scored. Sophia Stinson had two assists. Rodgers and Cacchione also had assists for the Ramblers. ⚽
• Girls volleyball swept Nardin Academy (NY). Varsity won in straight sets, 3-0. 🏐
• Football took on McDowell over the weekend. Varsity lost to the Trojans, 45-27. DaZarie Carson ran for 121 yards and a score. Davin Friedman threw for 226 yards and three touchdowns. Matthew Oblich finished with four catches and 104 yards and three touchdowns. KJ Williams had five catches for 112 yards. JV also lost their matchup, 19-8. Broegan McCarthy scored the lone touchdown. 🏈
• Boys cross country placed 19th at the Legends Meet. They were led by Quinn Orlando (128th) and Will English (134th). Also scoring were Jeremai Pruzenski, Joe Dieteman, Michael Brown, Sam English, and Tino Vendetti. 👟

• Boys and girls golf participated in the D-10 Individual Tournament at The Country Club of Meadville. Claire Williams was the lone Rambler to advance to the final round on the girls side, while Joseph Prichard, Connor Laird, Santino Washburn, and Nik Blanchard all advanced for the boys. ⛳

• Back-to-back! Congratulations to Boys Golf! They captured the District 10 AA title with a one-stroke victory over Fairview at The Country Club of Meadville. Joseph Prichard led the way with a 71, tying for first overall. Connor Laird shot a 72, while Sonny Washburn shot a 79. Nik Blanchard shot an 80. Jack Marz rounded out the scores with a 90. The Ramblers will play in the PIAA team championships on October 22 at Penn State. Congratulations to Coach Keim ’80 and the team! ⛳🏆
• Girls soccer took on Ft. LeBoeuf in a doubleheader. Varsity picked up a 1-0 victory over the Bison in overtime thanks to a Peyton Rodgers goal. Brooklyn DiRaimo had the assist, while Jordan Senz was once again a stalwart in goal. JV tied, 0-0. ⚽
