• Girls swimming & diving won at Warren, 125-46. Jaslene Cage and Brianne Ryan each won four events. Kara Sanders and Kendal Johnston were triple winners. Aubrey Bender won two events. 🏊‍♀️
• Boys swimming & diving also defeated Warren, 137-34. Andrew Dutchcot, Jackman Callaway, Adam Clark, and Jack Raimy all won three events each. Thomas Fortin won a pair of events. 🏊‍♂️
• Indoor Track had several top six finishers at their NEOITC Green division meet at Spire Institute. For the boys, Gavin Easter placed fourth in the long jump and sixth in the 200m. Will English took first place in the 800m. He also led off the boys 4x400m relay which finished fifth. Jeremai Pruzenski, Quinn Orlando, and Sam English joined him on the relay. For the girls, Anne-Catherine Brown finished first in the 1600m. Zita Schiedel was right behind in second, while Sophie Becker finished fourth. Reagan Johnston finished sixth in the 400m. Makayla Stutts won the 800m. Brown took third, while Becker was in fifth. The girls 4x400m relay of Stutts, Brown, Becker, and Johnston placed third. 👟
• Varsity hockey fell to Hempfield, 6-0. Matei Moga made 32 saves in goal. 🏒

Today, our AFJROTC cadets had the incredible opportunity to fly with the Civil Air Patrol out of Meadville, gaining firsthand exposure to aviation, leadership, and aerospace education.

In just TWO WEEKS, our students will take the stage once again! The Cathedral Prep Theatre Program is ready to set sail and search for buried treasure as they bring Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island” to the H. David Bowes Auditorium for their second production of the year. Performances will begin on Thursday, January 22, and conclude on Sunday, January 25. • Boys basketball swept McDowell. Varsity remained unbeaten with their 98-86 win over the Trojans. Nando Mirarchi led the way with 37 points. Michael Thompson went for 33. He also became the 15th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points. Ahmari Horton chipped in 17 points. JV began the night with a 47-46 victory. Ben Dougherty scored 14 points, while Karson Biel finished with 12 points. Demario Smith scored eight points. 🏀

• Girls varsity basketball participated in the Garden State New Year’s Ball in New Jersey over the weekend. They won their opener over Stony Brook School (NY), 61-37. Natalie Spano knocked down five three-pointers and had 19 points. Mia Washburn finished with nine points, while Seana Thrower and Leah Nies each had seven. They would beat The Hun School (NJ), 50-41, to close out play. Thrower had 15 points to lead the offense. Nies and Spano each had nine points. Washburn added eight points. 🏀
• Wrestling captured the Pin City Tournament title at Perry (OH). Mario Panighetti (138), Kamdyn Borrero (144), Gabe Dorman (157), Bode Terry (190), and Omar Arrington (215) won their classes. Sam Harrington (175) and Max Spaulding (285) finished second. Mason Gregor (120), Davion Edmond (126), and Luke Benedict (150) took third. Corey Kowalski (175), Montrell Stonewall (190), and Deangelo Nolen (285) took sixth, while Sawyer King (132) finished seventh. 🤼

Dominic Fornelli, Dylan Graham, Garrett Schwartz, Hyatt Hetz, Rory Callaghan, and Michael Corritore had assists. Colin Potocki made 30 saves in net. They would win their next game over Medina (OH), 4-1, to advance to the semifinals. Bruschi scored two goals. Henry Fritts and Graham also scored. Schwartz had two assists. Callaghan, Brady Sack, Hetz, and Corritore had assists. Gunnar Anderson had 24 saves in goal. The Ramblers would fall to Team Ohio (OH) in the semifinals, 3-1. Schwartz had the lone goal. • Boys basketball continued play in the KSA Tournament in Orlando, FL. On Friday, varsity would defeat Copper Hills (UT), 98-74, to advance to the championship game. Nando Mirarchi had 28 points, including the 1000th point of his career. Ahmari Horton and Michael Thompson each had 25, while Ashton Wilbur had nine points. In the championship, the Ramblers would defeat John B. Alexander (TX), 84-74. The Ramblers got 30 points from Mirarchi, who finished on the All-Tournament team. Thompson had 16 points. Wilbur had 15 points, while Horton scored 14 points. JV was also in action. They lost their lone contest to Viewmont (UT), 74-54. 🏀
• Girls swimming competed at the Viking Invitational at Cleveland State University. The Ramblers finished sixth out of 27 teams. They medley relay of Kara Sanders, Jaslene Cage, Aubrey Bender, and Kendal Johnston took fourth. Jaslene Cage finished third 200 IM, while Brianne Ryan finished 16th. Johnston finished sixth in the 50 free, while Bender followed in seventh. Bender finished eighth in the 100 free. Johnston took 13th. The 200 free relay of Johnston, Haylie Montgomery, Bender, and Cage too fifth. Cage took third in the 100 breaststroke. Ryan was 14th. 🏊‍♀️
• Boys swimming also competed at the Viking Invitational, finishing eighth out of 32 teams. The medley relay of Jack Raimy, Ben Camera, Andrew Dutchcot, and Adam Clark took sixth. The Ramblers surrendered a lead in the fourth quarter on a 20-0 run by St. Thomas More (LA) but won, 83-81. Nando Mirarchi led the Ramblers with 32 points. Ahmari Horton had 23 points. Ashton Wilbur finished with 12 points, while Michael Thompson chipped in nine. 🏀
• Girls basketball swept General McLane. Varsity rolled to a 60-18 victory over the Lancers. Seana Thrower’s 19 points led the way. Natalie Spano had 18 points, while Mia Washburn finished with 10.
