Students in Ms. Kabasinski's forensic science class are in the middle of their crime scene unit. Forensic science independent study student Katie Kuhar ’26 created the crime scenes and planted the evidence. Boys varsity placed 14th behind lead runner Will English. Girls JV finished sixth behind individual medalists Lilly Pinzok and Sophia Swanseger. 👟
• Football took on Riverside (OH) over the weekend. Varsity lost their first game of the season, falling to the Beavers, 26-7. The Ramblers fell behind 19-0 in the first half and never recovered. Davin Friedman threw for 187 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 66 yards. Matt Oblich had six catches for 66 yards and the lone score, while Gavin Easter hauled in nine catches for 106 yards. JV also lost their matchup, 24-8. It was an electric atmosphere at Dollinger Field on Friday night for the Ramblers’ season opener against the Erie High Royals. The Ramblers not only won, but we also recognized the first-ever Cathedral Prep football state championship team from 2000 at halftime. All students in attendance received a free commemorative shirt honoring the 2000 team. • Girls soccer swept Harbor Creek to kick off their season. Varsity shut out the Huskies, 4-0. Anna Johnson scored a pair, while Alexa Senz and Lauren McCormick also scored. CC Cacchione had a pair of assists. Jordan Senz earned the shutout. JV picked up a 5-0 win. Mya Cavalier scored two goals, while Jordyn DiRaimo, Claire Delaney, and Sophia Stinson also scored. ⚽
• Cross country took part in the HOKA Kickoff Classic XC Showcase 2025 under the lights at Riverside (OH). The girls placed ninth overall, led by a seventh-place finish by Anne-Catherine Brown. Zita Schiedel also earned an individual medal after placing 45th. Makayla Stutts (54), Sophie Becker (60), Reagan Johnston (119), Kendal Johnston (174), and Lilly Pinzok (183) also scored for the Ramblers. On the boys side, Will English placed 74th to lead the way. 👟
• Girls JV volleyball hosted and won their tournament at the Joann Mullen Gymnasium. They won every set (10) they played through the five matches against Eisenhower, Union City, Erie High, and Erie First. They won the final championship match against Eisenhower in two straight sets. 🏐
• Football split their weekend matchups against Erie High. Varsity came away with a 29-23 victory over the Royals in a four-overtime thriller. DaZarie Carson had 28 carries for 184 yards and four touchdowns, including the game winner. Dominic Panighetti had 10 tackles and three sacks to lead the Rambler defense.
