Congratulations to Bella Speros ’26 and Theresa Ferraro ’27 for their selection and participation in this year's Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) All-State Chorus. The road to states began in January with auditions at the District 2 Choir Festival. There, they placed for regions. In February, they auditioned at the Region II Choir Festival and placed in the top four in their sections and earned their ranks as state musicians. They were two of just a handful of student musicians selected from our District to participate. The All-State Festival was held last week in the Poconos, and the concert was held at Kalahari Convention Center in conjunction with the PMEA Annual Conference. Students rehearsed for two days under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Brian Winnie of Western Illinois University, and prepared a diverse, dynamic, and moving program to perform. Students and teachers shared unique rehearsal strategies used by Dr. Winnie, including work with overtones, tone modeling, dynamics, musical independence, and expression. Bella and Theresa have now represented Cathedral Prep at the All-State Festival two years running! Congratulations to you both! #Prep #AllState 🎶

MedPath students had an incredible opportunity to tour AHN Saint Vincent Hospital for a behind-the-scenes look at careers in healthcare!

Under the guidance of Dr. Caitlin Clark, students met professionals from radiology, physical therapy, emergency medicine, pharmacy, anesthesia, physician assistant studies, neonatal care and the president of the hospital, Dr. Chris Clark ’87.

Students explored key hospital areas including the ER, NICU, OR, Cath Lab, and more, gaining firsthand insight into the teamwork and expertise required to care for patients each day.

One of the biggest highlights was getting hands-on experience with the da Vinci Surgical System robot and seeing how advanced technology is transforming the future of surgery.

Thank you to AHN Saint Vincent for investing in our students and helping inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals! #Prep #MedPath ⚕️

The 2026 NFL Draft was held in Pittsburgh this past weekend. On Saturday, the Pittsburgh Steelers offered Western Pennsylvania high schools the opportunity to send a representative to the event. The organization celebrated these schools by providing an item for their trophy case: a custom football for players drafted and a custom gold chrome helmet from Riddell for players inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
