Students participated in our 12th annual Box Village event last week! Box Village is a hunger and homelessness awareness movement where students give up everything for one night to raise awareness of the impact of homelessness on our community. Students “lived” in the village from 6:00 p.m. on Thursday until 8:00 a.m. Friday morning. Students also helped make placemats for our upcoming Christmas dinners throughout the night and celebrated Mass altogether. Funds raised from the event will benefit the Emmaus Soup Kitchen. #Prep #Service #Community 📦

Children’s Grief Awareness Day was created in 2008 by the Highmark Caring Place, a center for grieving children, adolescents, and their families. This day raises nationwide awareness of the painful impact that the death of a loved one has in the life of a child, and how we can support them. Yesterday, we supported those that are grieving by wearing blue and holding a school wide dress down day with all proceeds going to the Caring Place. Students had the opportunity to write a message of love, honor, or support on paper butterflies in memory of a loved one or to show support to those grieving. Therapy dogs snuggled up to students and staff during all three lunches and the cafeteria staff had tasty treats for sale all day. CC Bizzarro ’28, Samantha Dawley ’28, and Connor Smith ’28 also submitted artwork for the Caring Place Poster Contest and attended the Caring Place Summit, where they were recognized for their work. #ChildGriefDay #HereforEachOther 🦋

Last Friday, the Cathedral Prep Dance program hosted its first annual “Dinner and Dancing” fundraising event to support the program’s upcoming trip to New York City in April 2025. The evening, catered by Cali's West, included several gift basket raffles, delicious food, and lively entertainment. Guests enjoyed learning and participating in line dances led by the dancers, followed by a night of dancing with family and friends.
Proceeds from the event will help fund the dancers' NYC trip, where they will take private lessons with prestigious institutions such as the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, The Rockettes, and at the Broadway Dance Center to name a few. The trip also includes attending a Broadway show with a backstage tour and visiting iconic museums, offering students a unique opportunity to enhance their skills and connect with the broader dance community.
The dancers would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended and for their continued support of the program. Your generosity helps make these transformative opportunities possible! We look forward to seeing everyone at their next event! #CPDance

Yesterday, MedPath students had the privilege of hearing inspiring words from Aimee Hagerty, MSN, RN, MBA and her incredible career journey during their “Lunch and Learn” series. From starting as a nurse, moving up to Chief Nursing Officer, to building a hospital from the ground up, Aimee’s story shows how resilience and vision can shape lives and communities.
Aimee shared how skills and competence are important, but what truly distinguishes good from great is how you treat people. In a field where technical expertise is vital, she reminded students that empathy, kindness, and respect make the real difference.
She also led efforts to bring Erie its first transplant team, pioneering life-saving care for countless patients right here in our community. Her advice to have the courage to create your destiny was powerful, inspiring students to push beyond their comfort zones and make an impact. Thank you, Aimee, for empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals to lead with heart, vision, and purpose! #Prep #MedPath
