Today, we welcomed guest speaker Chris Herren to campus. The subject of ESPN’s 30 for 30 Unguarded, he was a standout high school basketball player in Fall River, MA. He would go on to play at the collegiate level for Boston College and Fresno State before being drafted by Denver and played professionally for the Nuggets, Boston Celtics and overseas. Throughout his collegiate and professional career, he dealt with substance abuse that ultimately destroyed his life as he knew it then. Since effectively moving his way through rehab in an inspiring story of redemption and finding personal fulfillment, he has dedicated his efforts to speaking to people all around the country about the disease of addiction and substance abuse to peer pressure and bullying. We want to thank Chris for stopping by to speak to our students today, as well as send a special thank you to the Constable Family for making this presentation possible.
